Nairobi – Kenya, 2007
The 2nd World Forum of Theology and Liberation took place between January 16 and 19, 2007, under the theme “Spirituality for another possible world”. It brought together 300 people from five continents, mostly from Africa. A space that really provided the meeting and exchange of searches and accomplishments of affirmation of life, justice and dignity – in a planetary sphere, but allowing itself to be touched by the appeals and invitations of the Kenyan context. The works took place at the Carmelite Center, a neighboring institution to Tangaza College, in the Langata district of Nairobi. Like the first, the second WTF took place the week before the World Social Forum and, in general, received a very good evaluation from the participants and the International Committee. The diversity of expectations certainly divides and enriches the evaluation of results, but there remains a clear unanimity regarding the Forum’s intervention strategy and the importance of its contribution to current theological reflection.
